Quality Improvement Program

Carenorth has an extensive Quality Improvement Program which researches the best, most current treatments and preventive care for patients. The program monitors providers to ensure this top level of care is given.

As the public reporting of the quality and value of health care services delivered has become more important, Carenorth has worked to stay current and responsive, and accountable. Focused training on quality improvement is offered at both the system level and the individual clinic level. This training provides a foundation for each independent clinic to build a relevant and successful QI process upon.

Improving the Quality of Healthcare

Carenorth as a system, with the cooperation of its partners, Northstar Physicians Network and Northland Medical Associates, perform annual project studies on relevant clinical issues. Current studies include, diabetes mellitus care management, vascular disease management, tobacco cessation, and hypertension, to name only a few. Carenorth also surveys patients and helps our clinics find ways to serve them better.

Each Carenorth clinic has a Quality Improvement Medical Director as well as a Quality Improvement Coordinator. These groups meet on a regular basis within their clinics and as a system-group for training, project development and review and general networking.

The Carenorth Quality Programs are under the direction of Glenn H. Nordehn, D.O., Medical Director, and Bruce Penner, RN, Director of Clinical Operations and are administered by Northstar Physicians Quality Improvement Operations.
